I want to hear Obama say that he will abolish healthcare insurance companies. When our healthcare is concerned, who need companies turning a profit because they deny or limit coverage?
1.)In his proposals for reform, does the President include litigation reform, which 84% of Americans believe will help reduce costs and which is the number one goal of doctors in any health reform?
2.)Does he include a section on saving money by stopping payments to crooks who are bilking the taxpayers for $70-120 billion each year in Medicare and Medicaid fraud? For 88 percent of Americans, this is the first place they would look to find savings in our health care system. Is President Obama willing to look there?
3.)Does his speech reject higher taxes, which the vast majority of Americans believe will make the current economy even worse and increase unemployment even more?
4.)Does it reject all government rationing of health services which the American people have vocally opposed at town hall meetings across the country?
5.)Does it reject any government run, bureaucratic health plan?
6.)Is President Obama open to four or five bipartisan bills which could pass with big bipartisan majorities? Or does he insist on a single omnibus bill of 1000-plus pages like the one that failed when Mrs. Clinton tried to pass it in 1993-1994?
7.)Is he for sustaining the Senate rule of 60 votes to ensure a bill that has wide, bipartisan support? Or is he prepared to destroy long-standing Senate tradition and ram through a radical bill with 51 votes?
8.)Does President Obama give any indication he is for increasing the power, information and choice of the individual and their doctor or is he giving more power to the government?
9.)Does he focus on health, wellness, prevention, early detection and health management to avoid or control the severity of chronic diseases? Or does he spend his time talking only about acute care?
10.)Does his plan invest in science and technology in order to increase innovation and accelerate the discovery and adoption of new discoveries and breakthroughs in diseases such as Alzheimer’s, cancer and diabetes?
The doctors put "all those years into medical school," but nobody put a gun to the doctors' head, and, the doctors take the Hippocratic OATH, if that means anything today. Put the doctors on A SALARY, AND A LOW SALARY COMING OUT OF MEDICAL SCHOOL, TO ELIMINATE THE TREND FOR VARIOUS MEDICAL PROCEDURES.

The doctors are as dependent on everybody else for everything else, as everybody else is on the doctors for medical care.
Its a shame that in this great country, that people are ignorant. they seem not to think for themselves They sit and listen to people who dont know the fact and take everything that they say as law. I guess it will have to take something drastic to happen to their family or for them to hear one day that their insurance doesnt pay for that or this. Then I wonder what they would do.
Excerpt and adaptation from William Shakespeares immortalized eulogy taken from the age old classic play that lionized the concept of democracy over oilygarghys.
Marc Antony: "Friends, Romans and countrymen lend me your ears. I've come today to bury our lion [Teddy] ... not to praise him." The evils that men do oft lives after them. the valor and gusto with which they embrace life must be saluted... and and dreams must be allowed to carry on.
Presidential Order has prevailed aagain over chaos and collusions. Just like we pictured it.
Keep the faith! Never Fear!!!! Never Fear!!!! Never Fear!!!! I repeat, again for those who doubt tne power of Almightys Good Spirits, Never Fear!!!!
I read the Health bill and found more bad than good, and there is some good in it, but it will cost me and others way to much. Anything the government gets involved in turns bad, look at the VA hospitals, what a mess they are in. I served for 28 years in the military and see that mess every day with the VA. The President said this country was a Democracy, it is a Republic and you and him represent the people that elected you and him to govern us. The people want good health care but we don't want to pay for others that are in the USA illegally. I don't trust the President and you from your past actions. You folks need to get all to sit down and do a Health Plan we can all live with. He, you and others in the government are not and will not be on this health plan so why should we accept it. Why is the hired help getting more and better coverage that the employers, the people. If the plan is so good, you go on it with us. He promised a lot to get in office and then signed bills to cover up things, example, his background, birth certificate, what is he hiding? I think the President said, OPEN and ACCOUNTABLE, where did all the money go, billions, on the economic reform. Do you see what I and others see, you and those elected ruining America for my children and grand children. I am an independent registered voted, and was a past Democrat and Republican and over time I found no difference between the parties. You tax and spend and WE pay and go into debt for your arrogance. If you want health care for all make a good one, cost control and a more comprehensive plan that we, your employers can afford and get behind. I wish God would reveal all of the bad things you and others in government do that affect us. I end by wishing America having Gods blessing but He will take care of those at the end of time that lie and deceive and you and others in government from the President down will be accountable in time for your bad actions on those that love America and God.
The address to congress by the President was just a dog and pony show that makes him look good. He blamed the Republicans for all the problems but I remember you and other Democrats voting for and with them. The President and you need to talk to the people, like me and others that foot the bills and not those that have their hands out and suck the USA dry.
PS Thank you Rep Joe Wilson for saying what millions of Americans fell.
For those of you,who feel comfortable with your current insurance plans.Keep in mind,as long as you are paying your premiums and not using your policy everything is fine. All I can say is "DON'T"get hurt or sick.
I can tell what I didn't want to hear, and it boils down to the respect of the office,no matter what your political affiliation:
"Lawmakers denounce 'You lie' outburst at Obama
Democrats and Republicans alike are denouncing Rep. Joe Wilson for shouting "You lie" at President Barack Obama during his speech to Congress, an extraordinary breach of decorum for which the South Carolina Republican swiftly apologized."
"I can tell what I didn't want to hear, and it boils down to the respect of the office,no matter what your political affiliation:"
With all due respect, isn't this very hypocritical? Just where were all the outcries of "respect" during the terms of our last president, who happened to be a Republican?
Are you saying Obama will implement the public option because the CBO scored his bill and only the HMOs will benefit just like Bush did with the Senior citizen prescription drug bill?
Public Option = lower cost
Everything else = higher cost
Obama sold out to Wall Street just like Bush and Cheney did for the last 8 years.

We want the public option
Obama must retain a 'public option' for healthcare reform or he risks a massive backlash from the Democratic grassroots

When Barack Obama speaks before Congress on healthcare tonight, he'll either mention a public option or he won't. The calculus involved in making that decision will have nothing to do the politics of healthcare – sadly, the public option was an early casualty in the battle for control of K Street lobbying money. As far as the administration is concerned, it's just a matter of who breaks the bad news to grandma.
The neoliberal White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, the architect of Nafta, auctioned off most everything of value in a healthcare reform package long ago. Hospital profits, doctors' profits, pharmaceutical profits, insurance company profits, all guaranteed to go up, up, up for the next decade – so long as their lobbying money stayed in Democratic coffers.
And who gets stuck with the bill? Well, that would be the middle class consumers, forced to buy junk health insurance they can't afford to use. Dreams of a second New Deal reduced to a massive transfer of wealth to the private insurance industry, with nary a cost control in sight.
Whether it goes down as the White House plans is another matter entirely.

Good Billions After Bad”–One Year After Wall Street Bailout, Pulitzer Winners Barlett and Steele Investigate Where All the Money Went
It’s been exactly one year since the onset of the financial crisis and the passage of the Bush administration’s $700 billion bailout of Wall Street. But what were the factors in deciding who received bailout funds? And what happened to all the money? The answer to those two simple questions is: We don’t know. In a new article in Vanity Fair, the Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative team Donald Barlett and James Steele try to find an answer. The problem is, they write, “once the money left the building, the government lost all track of it.” / Video
