Of more interest to me was the Republican Values Voter Conference.

So, the right has come around to agreeing with Barack Hussein Obama’s fiery Reverend Wright, it appears.

At the right’s values conference they sang “Why Should God Bless America?” They sang in chorus that America should be damned for turning away from the “values” of the right. Just like their saying that Katrina was God’s just punishment against a Democratic district.

To those on the right, people should die, by horrific means from above, or by bullets if God doesn’t have the stomach to do his job,-if people don’t do as the right wishes. Sounds like the right has delusions of uber-godhood, and a god-awful nasty streak.

Native Americans should have taken better care of that immigrant problem they had, and built a wall to keep out those damned Puritans. And when Europeans fleeing the French Revolution came here with a chip on their shoulder, and sired Conservatism, that really did in any chance that we would be a smart and civilized nation. And so today we are the only first-world nation with a death penalty and the highest per capita incarceration rate. And we are the only first world nation without medical insurance as a right, and a concomitant bottom ranking in health stats. And don’t forget the minority Conservative sect’s version of Sharia law,-death for this and death for that and damnation for most things in between.

We should be better than this.

And also:

The armed right keeps saying that an armed society is a polite society. A society under a strict military dictatorship is also a polite society, no? Such meekness and order via threats of violence, though, are only the aim of the right to control the left. If this same right wing sees a black man, especially a Democrat, become president, then wild dissent is good, impoliteness and disorder are virtues, and of course there must be threats of future violence and death if this president and Congress don’t fall in line or quit.

“We came unarmed. THIS TIME!”

Smack that brat.

Who would vote for Patterson except the blacks, partisan vote now? For $88,000 annually with all the vacations and time off, Patterson hires a retired NYS trooper (with a disability pension--duble-dipping CSEA pension on the TAXPAYER) to READ TO THE GOVERNOR, while Sunday school teachers--WOMEN--read to children for free.

The problem with WHITES is that they express their anger about blacks by using words that instantly include the nigger word--that makes it racial because of words.

Blacks EXPRESS ANGER AT WHITES WITH THE USUAL CURSE WORDS, E.G., MOTHER FUCKER, ETC.--AND WITH VIOLENCE--AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO POINT OUT THEIR HATRED OF WHITES.

Whites always handle blacks delicately. Nobody attacked Obama for Van Jones. But Cheney accidentally shoots a friend while hunting, and the White House collapsed under THE MEDIA INVESTIGATION.

Gail:

I think your comment deserves this response:
"We allow our ignorance to prevail upon us and make us think we can survive alone, alone in patches, alone in groups, alone in races, even alone in genders.

Gail: That paranoid self-righteous right wing nutjob Cheney singlehandedly destroyed America, and revoked all of our privacies with his own version of KGB PRACTICES AND BARBARIC TORTURES.
Nice example for us to observe or follow follow, unless your motives has a duel purpose.

Right there, you choose of all things to point out rather incitefully "the total insanity" of placing guns in the hands of paranoid schizophrenics who mask themselves as brave when they feel they are protected by their chunks of iron and are free to use them at any time they feel that they can imply self defense or accident as an excuse for their actions.
Then, as usual chose to screwed up the entire message by calling it "friendly fire". Why?
Is it because Cheney wears the same thin skinned uniform as you, and his behavioral cowardices toward others provides for you an appropriate "smoke screen" for your own next projected "error" in judgment when assessing the worth of a human being when sending a hunk of lead in their direction.
UNDER US LAW CHENEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN JAILED FOR LEAVING THE SCENE OF THE CRIME AND NOT REPORTING IT!
DO NOT BE FOOLED INTO THINKING THAT YOU TOO CAN MAKE THAT SAME OOOOPS MISTAKE AND GET AWAY WITH IT.

My mother listens to quite a bit of ring-wing talk radio. She said she heard that Hillary is sick of being our Secretary of State. She's sick of going to countries where the leaders are always asking for Bill. Hillary wants to be governor of NY. ...Then according to my mother's radio station, Guiliani is waiting in the wings. Rudy will run only if he's up against Paterson.

Maybe Obama wants to get rid of Hillary, or he wants to stop Rudy. Either way, I'd take Paterson over Clinton or Guiliani.

Kathy: Its sad to say that most people around the world see right through Hillary and her self serving and flip flopping ways.
I for one will never let her supporters forget her infamous line regarding universal healthcare for Americans. "It will never happen... and I have the scars to prove it."
That and many other suck up alliances with- the right wing globalists, ... her votes on the Iraq war siding with the repubs... bailing out on the 2004 election for the safer 2008 campaign...
shunning Ned Lamont for Joe Weasel... to keep the Carlyles and K Street empowered. All of those luscious tidbits... and more.

IF YOU WANT A VERY GOOD TO GREAT LEADER TO ENDORSE LOOK INTO JENNIFER GRANHOLM.
She doesn't flinch, get flustered or show the evidences of PMS, PBDs[post Bill depressions] or feel the urgent need to go on tirades when she is tired or uncomfortable.

Hillary's done. Finished! Don't think for a minute that it wasn't she and her backers that squashed the Caroline Kennedy bid. Bring back, Bill. A real humanitarian.

Why waste anymore time on Patterson. He isn't winning anything on any level. Not with any segment of our society. Do you thing the working poor is ever going to vote for the dolt who proposed 5c taxes on every one of those defective cheap plastic grocery bag they have to tote home? Get real!
Here are some more gems he has to overcome.
-the soda tax proposal
-letting banks and Wall St skate away scott free with their loot, and not collecting the back state taxes they owed.
-Increasing subway fares. Letting the MTA & LIRR go on with their fraud and cooked books.
THE MAN IS THE BEST HAND-PICKED EMPTY SUIT MONEY COULD BUY. PERIOD

America's next top role model

Lincoln is his idol. So why is Obama starting to talk so much like Jimmy Carter?

September 20, 2009

According to the magazine covers, Barack Obama used to be Abraham Lincoln. Now he's starting to sound like his uninvited defender Jimmy Carter.

President Obama isn't stupid enough to play the race card that Jimmy Carter dealt last week. He wouldn't be president today if had presented himself as a victim.

But, like Carter, he confuses sanctimony with persuasion, and like Carter, he thinks the American people are his congregation instead of his boss.

In WHAT YEAR? Carter approvingly quoted a supposed guest of his at Camp David who sounded uncannily lot like a liberal speechwriter when he said, according to Carter(try to picture any normal person actually speaking these words over a glass of iced tea), "We've got to stop crying and start sweating, stop talking and start walking, stop cursing and start praying."

The White House
Obama idolizes Abraham Lincoln but his rhetoric has the ring of Jimmy Carter

Stop talking and start walking. Obama, who has spoken out on health care more than 120 times in eight months, is increasingly singing the same song. Everyone who isn't in the choir is cordially invited to be quiet.
Each of these men took office during a moment of national exhaustion, when cleansing and rebirth sounded so exhilarating that the details didn't much matter. Each thought Americans emerging from dark days were eager to be scolded and corrected.

Carter was widely criticized by his own staff for trying to do too much, for burying himself in details and for his exasperating piety. He made extravagantly silly promises: "this nation will never use more foreign oil than we did in 1977 — never." Obama promised last week, "I am determined to be the last" president to tackle health care, without adding "one dime" to our deficits, by wrestling all of the "waste and abuse" out of the system.

Every student of politics knows that Jimmy Carter never mentioned malaise in his "malaise speech." But his July 15, 1979 speech foreshadowed Obama in important ways.

Carter suggested that the American people had lost their way — and that they must shut up and get with his program in order to find themselves. "It is a crisis of confidence," Carter said. "It is a crisis that strikes at the very heart and soul and spirit of our national will. We can see this crisis in the growing doubt about the meaning of our own lives . . . [it] is threatening to destroy the social and the political fabric of America."To Carter, it wasn't just Midnight in America. It was Midnight in Detroit. On the night when mobs used to roam around burning down buildings out of boredom.

In his inaugural address, Obama envisioned a golden age beyond the reach of adversarial comment — minus those "petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn-out dogmas," "the cynics" with their "stale political arguments." These things were delaying a necessary, indeed critical, Great Reformation of the American way.

These days, Obama's bitter shorthand for those rounded phrases is "Cable TV," the supposed source of misinformation that he believes has hoodwinked half of American voters into opposing his health care plan.Seventy-one percent of voters say the plan should be changed to attract Republican support — which Obama has all but abandoned. At what point is Obama the one taking refuge in a fringe version of reality?

Five days after warning Americans that we were too dumb to believe all this — that "facts and reason are thrown overboard" and that "our calling" is to support him — Obama went to Wall Street to thunder, "I want everybody here to hear my words" as he promised "the most ambitious overhaul of the financial regulatory system since the Great Depression."

An episode of the PBS program American Experience said of Carter, "His tenacity, so admirable, could shift to stubbornness; his religious faith to self-righteousness. His brilliant mind could be bound up by intricate details." If these things were true of him, are they not even truer of the man who is currently waging a four-front war on the insurance industry, Wall Street, carbon emissions and the recession, not to mention a couple more wars overseas?

The transformation of Obama from Lincoln to Carter, from Great Emancipator to Bitter Scold was foretold by the wise political analysts we ignore at our peril: "The Simpsons."

In 1993, when Springfield yearned to erect a statue of Lincoln, all it got was a cheaper one — of Carter. As the people realized that they'd been had, one of them yelled of Carter, "He's history's greatest monster!" A riot broke out, a vision of tea parties yet to come. On Carter's pedestal were chiseled two words that are starting to sound like the motto of the Obama years: "Malaise Forever."

"Nobody attacked Obama for Van Jones."

Did I miss something about Van Jones, like a conviction for possessing child porn or something? I thought his "crime" was signing some petition to investigate 9/11. How could that have even been brought up as worthwhile to mention, much less its being cause to fire him?
