This cop is a big man in Seattle's community. ha! ha! ha! Did his boss reprimand him for something? Evidently, Seattle cops take jay walking real serious.

Isn't there real crime for this cop to handle? What happened to freedom of speech? Big deal--jaywalking. What's next? This cop works for the American People.

The teen must of been poor, no huge bank account. I wonder if Seattle cops would do that to somebody prestigious in their community?

The video is shocking but it also makes the incident seem worse than it is. Yea, the cop got physical but it looks like it was the two women who were trying to assault him and not the other way around. They shouldnt be complaining after attacking him.

this was way out of context. ive been hit by a cop before. but this here isnt right. first off its a female and shes underage. i was 16 when i was hit by the cop he put 7 sttiches in my head.

This is totally unacceptable. This is a complete inside out act of racism. He is a heavy and well trained police man. And she is just a 17yrs old girl without any professional training in combat and self defense situations. How can you reconcile this. He flexed his muscles and then threw the punch with hatred due to her race and color, Black.

I bet you if she was of the same race with him he would not have done the same.

If feel the cop was justified because it was obvious from the video that the girls would not comply. They could have just as easily taken his gun and shot him or have hurt someone else. It doesn't matter if the the officer stop them for jay-walking that is besides the point if they put there hands on a police officer who is to say they are not capable of taking his gun! There is no excuse for their behavior at 17 yrs old you no better than to put your hands on an officer. There is absolutely no respect for anyone anymore!!

what happen to holding police officers to a higher standard. we pay their income by way of taxes, is this the training that we are paying for. if someone can bring that anger out of this officer over a jaywalking incident, i would hate to see how he responds in in a dangerous situation

The police officer could very well have been following direct orders to see that all laws were obeyed or issue summonses. WHY? WHY, YOU ASK?

Clinton gets away with lying, Spitzer solicits the services of a prostitute, ETC., but jaywalking is treated as a capital crime. Would the cop punched Clinton or Spitzer if they jaywalked? What happened to the days when men didn't hit women?

Another overlap: the police are tax collectors, not protecting us, etc., but getting us for fines, another money grab for a greedy government, and the people do not respect cops because the cops do NOT deserve it. How many people are apologizing for their behavior around cops, walking on glass, and did nothing?

Guess the cop was just conditioning the kid to such up and shut

Today, the kids are the last vestige of freedom of speech, who have the guts
to speak up, and haven't been conditioned, Pavlo's dog. Most Americans are screwed if you do and screwed if you don't, unless of course, you have a large bank account, and you are automatically protected, taken care of. Another example, there are no DWI checks at the exits of state parks when the boards have their parties and events.
