If GOP Wins: A Step Forward Or A Step Back?

October 21st, 2010   (234 views )

SEATTLE (AP) - As he continues a five-state campaign swing,
President Barack Obama is pleading with supporters to reach back
for the enthusiasm they felt two years ago. He urged a Seattle
crowd to go to the polls to help avert big Republican victories in
less than two weeks. Meanwhile, a White House official says Obama
will headline a Democratic rally in Chicago on the final weekend
before Election Day.

We would be taking a giant step backwards if the GOP wins. Think about it. One thing they want to do is maintain the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans. Why??? If they ever wanted to use their favorable tax position to create more jobs what were they waiting for? They are only crying about it now because it might go away. They never had ANY intention on helping anyone else. Where were the all the wealthy people with the tax cuts with the power to create jobs when all of the jobs were disappearing and thousands of people’s homes are being foreclosed? I'ts all smoke and morrors to keep you from looking at what they are really up to, lining their pokets.

What jobs have the Democrats created for the private sector? Just out of control unemployment. Saved us? Bailouts and Spending money we don’t have, only postpones the issue, the threat of recession/depression is not over. The Democrat majority have done nothing to prevent a future disaster or to fix what caused it. Economic meltdown and worse environmental oil spill was under the watch of this Democrat majority in congress. A GOP majority in congress, can only be a step forward.

And notice, I never even mentioned Obamacare.

But I will:

We're going to be "gifted"with a health care plan that we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents to administer the plan, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, signed by a President who smokes, with funding by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, on which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke.
WTF could possibly go wrong ??

It will be a step back. The republican party is presently being backed by large contribtions from oil co hedge funds and carl rove. This is because of the supreme court ruling in citizens united. The republicans will not be reducing the debt but will give huge tax breaks to millionaires and corporations will rule the roost. They wil cut medicare social security and other social program. Take health care for instance. last year the insurance co denied over 471000 for preexisting conditions. To say they will have 160000 internal revenue agents is stupid the program has not even started. They will cover 100% of preventive care with no co pays for deductibles. Insurance co can no longer place a lifetime cap on their payouts. That is just a example of the rumors being spread by fox news and carl rove. They intend to role back the credit card bill financial regulations. In addition they will issue supoenas to bring down the current president. In other words they do not care about improving the economy only more partisan politics. This is their goal to return to the last bush administration which brought us the great depression of 2007 and because of the greed of wall street the biggest foreclosure of homes in the history of the US. It will take longer than 2 years to clean up their mess.

IT would be terrible to go back to the bush policies. When the republicans need a bill say in health they go to blue cross to write the bill. If they need a energy bill they go to exxon. For credit card legislatrion they go to j p morgan chase and for financial regulation they go to goldman sachs. That is their idea of legislation and guess who gets stuck with the bill the taxpayers. So if they get re elected hold on to your wallets. They created a 12 trillion dollar deficit under bush and if elected they can another 5 for 6 trillion dollars

Bush created more government jobs [2.5million]during his reigns of terror with $750b over the budget supplementals than the entire tax free rich boys created in their private sector[2.2million] during that same span.
Of course that 2.5million government jobs went to his $2trillion dollar Wars to Nowhere that have no conceivable good end in sight.
Hmmmm! What is the total projected deficit at he beginning of the Bush/Republican spending spree ---> $4.3trillion. When he left $12.7trillion.
THAT'S $8.4TRILLION IN ARROGANCE FEES PLUS INTEREST FOR ALL YOU RPUBLICAN DEFICIT JUNKIES.
What do you think the deficit will be with the return of more of the same douche bag deregulated status quos.

By the way, unbeknownst to you, because neither you or MSM haven't taken the time to notice the count, past to updated present [2001-2008], the private sector lost, cut or downsized appx. 10million Americans during that time frame. Duh!
And you guys want the return to the chilling days of yesteryear.

I am not saying that Stupid is, as stupid does... at this time but, ... The definition of insanity is repeating the same process that didn't work and expecting a different result. Only this time they are working on amending the laws and the taxation process so that they can't be prevented from raiding your homes and property and giving it all to themselves.

We on the bottom of pyramid, await you. Don't say that we didn't try to warn you.

THE TREASONOUS ROAD TO ROCK BOTTOM

"Smedley Darlington Butler (1881-1940) blew the whistle on the little- known plot of the title. He was on public television the fall of 1993 in "The Road to Rock Bottom"--Part 2 of The Great Depression series (Blackside production). Near the end it shows Butler in shirtsleeves, urging on 10,000 of the war veterans who had marched to Washington and camped in Anacostia DC. It was July 1932. The Bonus Army asked for early payment of moneys promised for 1945. "Some were the same men who had fought under Smedley Butler in the Spanish-American War, the Philippines campaign, the Boxer Rebellion, ...Caribbean interventions, the Chinese intervention of 1927-8, and World War I" (p 3).

Butler, a major general at 48, retired from the Marine Corps in 1931. He had faced gunfire 120 times. Columnist Will Rogers wrote of Butler, "He is what I would call a natural born warrior. He will fight anybody, any time....He carries every medal we ever gave out. He has two Congressional Medals of Honor....You give him another war and he will get him another one....I do admire him" (p 116).

Except the two years in China, Butler spent the last third of his service in police work and administration. During this time a disillusion with war spread through Europe and America. The mood fed on books like ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT and MERCHANTS OF DEATH.

August 21, 1931, Butler spoke to an American Legion convention in New Britain CT. Looking back, he reflected on his career. His remarks stunned the audience. Few papers dared report even part of the speech:

"I spent 33 years...being a high-class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer for capitalism....

"I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-1912. I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1916. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City [Bank] boys to collect revenue in. I helped in the rape of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street....

"In China in 1927 I helped see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested....I had...a swell racket. I was rewarded with honors, medals, promotions....I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate a racket in three cities. The Marines operated on three continents..." (p 118).

Why would a cabal of capitalists--conspirators of enormous wealth-- approach such a man? Because they knew veterans revered him; he never ordered anything done he would not do himself. Grunts, noncoms, and combat officers believed Butler was their friend. Forty times, envoys of Wall Street tried to persuade him to lead a coup d'etat.

The instigators wanted a putsch commander who could mobilize 500,000 soldiers overnight. These would make up a paramilitary force, to take form as the American Liberty League. Its pattern was a French veterans' group, the Croix de Feu. (The backers studied then rejected two other models of veterans' organization that fascists had used in taking power: Mussolini's blackshirts and Hitler's brownshirts.)

The reason for the plot was the election of President Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR), a member of the same ruling circles as the cabal itself. March 5, 1933--the day after his inauguration--FDR embargoed the export of gold and declared a national bank holiday. He told the "Hundred Days Congress" to enact a New Deal into law. In striving against the Depression, FDR awakened hope in the American people, but he appalled bankers and industrialists. Who would pay for this New Deal? The rich feared changes to the US system of finance, a rise in taxes, possibly even (Heaven forbid!) socialism.

Rumours of the plot reached Washington, where the Committee on Un- American Activities (CUAA)--was already exposing fascist intrigues. Its cochairmen were John McCormack (D MA) and Samuel Dickstein (D NY). CUAA got in touch with Smedley Butler: did the general have anything to tell them? After prying out all the plans he could, Butler asked a friend, an experienced newsman, to confirm the whole incredible scheme. The reporter visited twice with an agent of the conspirators (a wounded Marine vet) and set down his findings.

Secret executive hearings of CUAA opened November 20, 1934. Sworn testimony showed that the plotters represented notable families --Rockefeller, Mellon, Pew, Pitcairn, Hutton; and great enterprises-- Morgan, Dupont, Remington, Anaconda, Bethlehem, Goodyear, GMC, Swift, Sun.... Some people named as plotters laughed, all denied everything.

"The reader who wishes to examine the official testimony is referred to the government report, `Investigation of Nazi Propaganda Activities and Investigation of Certain Other Propaganda Activities: Public Hearings Before the Special Committee on Un-American Activities, House of Representatives, Seventy-third Congress, Second Session, at Washington, DC, December 29, 1934. Hearings No. 73-D.C.-6, Part 1.' Extracts of the censored testimony are revealed in the books A MAN IN HIS TIME, by John L. Spivak [NY: Horizon Press, 1967], and ONE THOUSAND AMERICANS, by George Seldes [NY: Boni & Gaer, 1947]" (p 140).

Jules Archer has written 29 books on politics and personalities such as Eisenhower, MacArthur, Kenyatta, and Castro. Here he succeeds in "break[ing] some of the seals of silence that have kept Americans from knowing about [a] conspiracy" of US fascists in 1933-4 (p x). "The conspiracy unquestionably inspired the novel SEVEN DAYS IN MAY..."

On the other hand, suppose we kept the Democrats in and gave them more then then just two years? Do you suppose we would be better off, once their real agenda kicks in?

A) Have they proven to spend less and be more responsible then the Republicans? NO.

B)Have they created private sector jobs? NO.

C) Are they planning to grow government and increase the already heavy tax burden to pay for this growth, even in a bad economy? YES.

D) Are they uniting this country? NO.

E) Do the majority of people agree with most of their policies? NO.

If the only thing we can answer 'yes' to is increasing taxes and growing government, then two years is more then enough time. Lets throw them out.

The banks and private industry hhas teamed up with the Republican do nothings for all of the past two years stalling and bitching every inch of the way not willing to comply and pay their fair share of taxes and you know it. So don't try now- to act ignorant to the schemes being played that you've admitted existed right here on this site.
When Bush was President Dems gave him what he asked for, and didn't attempt or announce they would endorse coup d etats to insure his failure either. They were civil and some even compliant for 8 whole years.

HERE'S YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO ROLE PLAY HOW THE STATUS QUO PRIVATE SECTOR WOULD CREWATE THE JOBS NECESSARY TO PULL THIS COUNTRY OUT OF THIS RECESSSION IN 2YEARS OR LESS- KNOWING THAT REPUBLICANS YOU WILL ELECT DIDN'T HAVE A CLUE FROM 2001-2006 AND LOEFT TO THEIR OWN DEVICES WOULD AGIAN USE THE SAME TOOLS THAT DESTROYED OUR ECONOMY.
LAY OUT YOUR BLUEPRINT FOR US.
Ok! name or itemize for us the jobs that private industry can deploy right now that can take a minimum of 4,000,000 people off the unemployment roles in the next 6months.
And tell us with certainty that there is both market and the spending capital for to purchase the products to be sold, who will buy the stuff and which sector.
Remember that most of the middle class is projected not to be able to use their homes as collateral for loans since more than 50% will be underwater according to our econmists by 2012. So your time frame is limited. Don't plead out, this time.
Obama had more on his plate than to just deliver jobs. He had Bush's foreign policy failures and his wars to deal with. He couldn't enlist Europe because Bush broke them as well.

Good Luck, Jr capitalist.
You already know that I would go whole hog on EPA and Government education and research jobs first. Go to a 4 day work week for all letting the private sector come back with a flourish after these other things were accomplished. Not because I favor government but, to end unemployment. Second because I realize that first need a new you need a market and the public needs the spending capital before they can purchase new big ticket items from your CEO indulgent big spending private sector.

John, so if I hear you right you're saying that government does not create private jobs that it is the bankers responsibility? Is that right? THEN WHY DID GOVERNMENT BORROW HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS FROM US AND OUR CHILDREN IN THE GUISE OF A JOB CREATING STIMULUS PACKAGE? Do you see my point? The government cannot create permanent jobs in the private sector by spending money we don't have but that is what the Democrats did, putting us deeper in debt.

Their strategy is flawed. They are irresponsible. Decorating and painting the house, while the foundation is collapsing beneath us. For the sole purpose of selling it or getting re-elected before it all comes crumbling down.

John, the people notice the cracks in the foundation. We see what is going on. Call it big government, NWO, self centered, elite politicians. Its all the same to me. The interest and the will of the people are being ignored by this crowd. The more they abuse their power by over spending, over taxing and more control over our lives, the more they weaken the power and independence of the people.

Why haven't they reigned in the abusers? From the irresponsible bankers, to self centered wall street, to corrupt, Fannie and Freddie. Even to SOME irresponsible individuals, maxed out on their credit cards, behind on their mortgage payments, not paying their debts because they refuse to sacrifice. While those who are responsible and willing to sacrifice get stuck with the bill. I wonder, are they all just following their leaders?

And to generally answer your question to create more jobs we need more manufacturing in this country.

John: Again Mike you stop short of remembering the whole process for your own convenience sake. banks were given that STIMULUS MONEY UNDER THE AUSPIS THAT THEY WERE GOING TO DECLARE MARTIAL LAW ACROSS AMERICA IF THEYWEREN'T GIVEN THE BLACKMAIL MONEY.
THERY WERE SUPPOSED TO USE THAT MONEY TO MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO SOLIDIFY THE HOME ASSETS OF FAMILIES THAT ARE THE FOUNDATION BEHIND THEIR PHONY GREEN PAPER AND THAT SOLIDIFICATION WOULD THEREFORE STRENGTHEN THE DOLLAR, ALLOW EVERYONE ELSE TO MAINTAIN THEIR EQUITY AND THAT ALONE WOULD HAVE NOT ONLY ENDED FORECLOSURES BUT GIVEN US THE ASSET LEVERAGE NEEDED TO OBTAIN LOANS FOR NEW BUSINESS VETURES AND TO CREATE "OUR OWN" JOBS.
Many of us knew that the vultures were hollowing out the middle class. Those plans and the processes were made clear to you. yOU WANT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT YOUR VOTE BEING MADE WORTHLESS AND AT THE SAME TIME YOU WANT TO EMPOWER THE SAME GREEDY BASTARDS THAT HAVE DONE THIS.
Their will be no returning to any voting booths to erase this mistake, special interests will guarantee that most of America falls into critical dispair, ignorance and disease. Some of those people infected will live next to you, or impact you and that's guaranteed. There is no way to avoid it unless you are a shut in.
False imprisonment and seizure of assets is the hallmark of these institutional gorillas. Their next move is to privatize your water, the justice system and the straight news you get from public tv, so if you think that you are being hijacked now, continue being a frontman for them. You are no the bottom of their totem pole. Once they finish with us- they'll be going after you. And that ought to be soon because the rest of America has already stopped spending.

The corporates had whole 10yrs of tax I asked you to name the private sector jobs that you and the corporates would create that would immediately (in 18 months or less) solve the "jobless" problem THAT YOU BLAME OBAMA FOR and again I see NOTHING! NOTHING!! NOTHING!!!
breaks and what did they do with those taxbreaks besides use it to f*ck up everything in order so that they pay nothing, most of all, they certainly didn't create jobs.
I'll repeat the next to last paragraph now and isolate it- just to insure that you address the jobs problem in your next post.

I asked you to name the private sector jobs that you and the corporates would create that would immediately (in 18 months or less) solve the "jobless" problem THAT YOU BLAME OBAMA FOR and again I see NOTHING! NOTHING!! NOTHING!!!

John, notice I said before, hundreds of billions not a trillion. I am not talking about TARP and money used to sure up the banks. I am talking specifically about the extra money Obama said was earmarked for job growth, shovel ready jobs, jobs stimulus money that HE promised would bring down unemployment and did not.

"Many of us knew that the vultures were hollowing out the middle class....False imprisonment and seizure of assets is the hallmark of these institutional gorillas."- John

John, I am not defending these institutional Republicans with such motives but what you describe sounds a lot closer to this Democrat Administration. Do you think Obamacare helps the middle class or creates a bigger divide, worse treatment and more costly for most of the middle class, effectively making the middle class poorer...except of course, the elite, including these Democrat politicians that exempted themselves. Do you think when government continues to spend, grow and create more programs which will require more money from us in taxes to support, that it is not a "seizure" of our assets?

"I asked you to name the private sector jobs that you and the corporates would create that would immediately (in 18 months or less) solve the "jobless" problem THAT YOU BLAME OBAMA FOR and again I see NOTHING! NOTHING!! NOTHING!!!" - John

John, I have nothing, I don't have that answer, except I do have a question that might help to answer. How were we able to create jobs when the Republicans had the majority back in the Clinton years? If I recall those were pretty good economic times. The Bush years were all Republican or a Democrat majority in congress. So why do we keep comparing this election to the Bush years? Maybe it's because we keep hearing Obama and the DEMs say we don't want to go BACK to those days. Yet, I don't see where we moved forward. A Democrat president with a Republican majority is something different and a chance to move forward.

I seldom post articles but this article paints such a complete picture of the democrats, the republicans, big business, the people and the tea party. Do you see all the different motives at work here?

"Health insurers flirted with Democrats, supported them with money and got what they wanted: a federal mandate..." - (Dems bought by big business).

"Now they’re backing Republicans, hoping a GOP Congress will mean friendlier regulations..." - (Teaming up with the soon to be party in power).

"Some industry officials say they were stung by the fierceness of Democratic efforts to paint them as corporate villains...Then Obama, seeking to rally support for his plan...wrote in August 2009, "insurance companies will continue to profit by discriminating against sick people."..From then on, political giving by the insurers flipped..."- (First in bed, then thrown under the bus by this administration to get what they want. What does that say about their honesty and character)?

"The so-called individual mandate has provoked tea party conservatives, who see it as an example of big government interference in personal decisions..." - (tea party values).

"Thirty-seven percent said they want to repeal it. But 36 percent of those polled said they want to revise the law so it does more to change the health care system..." (the people's will).

"Republican candidates are running on platforms that include repealing..The insurance industry could be fighting with its traditional ally, the Republicans, not to cripple the bill..." - (will Reps back business or us)?

DUH! DO YOU REALLY NEED THE ANSWER STAMPED ON YOUR FOREHEAD. BOTH OBAMA AND THE DEMS FULLY EXPECTED THE BANKS TO LIVE UP TO THEIR PROMISES IN RETURN FOR THE PORTION OF THE STIMULUS THEY WERE GIVEN. THE BANKS WERE MONET ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS AMOUNTING TO $3.1TRILLION NO JOBS OR LOANS CAME OF IT.
OBAMA HAD TO BAIL OUT AIG AND THE REST OF THE G-S GAMBLING CARTELS, ...KEEP THE AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY FROM BEING COMPLETELY OUTSOURCED TO THE JAPANESE AS THE REPUBLICANS WERE ENDORSING,... AND HE KEPT HIS PROMISE TO KEEP ESSENTIAL GOVERNMENT AND SERVICE WORKERS ON THE JOB TO PREVENT FURTHER ATTRITION AS WELL AS ADD THEM TO THE UNEMPLOYMENT ROLLS. NOT TOO SHABBY WHEN YOU CONSIDER THAT 2 0F THE BIG THREE ARE ALMOST COMPLETELY SOLVENT AND THEY ARE NOW OUT PRODUCING THEIR FROEIGN COMPETITORS. YA THINK!
------------------
WHAT DID THE BIG BOY PRIVATES DO DURING THIS SAME TIME FRAME WITH THEIR EXEMPTIONS AND RECORD PROFITS?
Answer: LAYED OFF MASSIVE NUMBERS OF WORKERS, AND CUT THE BENEFITS OF THE REST- WHILE FEEDING THEMSELVES HUMONGOUS BONUSES.
*NOT PAYING THEIR 2008 STATE AND LOCAL AND CITY TAXES, LEFT YOU WITH THE OVERRUNS ON YOUR DECREASED VALUE PROPERTY.
They just ran off with the loot and have stockpiled it all into global equities houses and you know damned well where all of that money is headed.

INNOVATION AND HIGH TECH AND THOSE WERE THE JOBS THAT WERE PROMISED TO US. GREEDY CORPORATIONS BROKE THAT PROMISE FOR SHORT TERM PROFITS(LATE 1990'S-2003) W/ OUTSOURCING.
BY 2004 IT HAD ALL BECOME UNRAVELED WM DONALDSON TRIED TO ALERT BUSH AND THE REST OF WALL ST AND THEY CONSPIRED TO HAVE HIM FIRED, BROUGHT IN PAULSON AND THE REST OF THE PONZISCHEME IS NOW LIVING HISTORY.

John, you must be mixing me up with somebody that knows something. I'm just searching for truth and expressing my feelings. Finally, you speak words I can understand. I often get lost when you get too deep with that NWO and conspiracy jargon.

So okay, you're saying the money for job creation was handed over to the banks but the banks screwed Obama. Yet, hmmm something does not really jive with that. I thought the banks got the TARP money? I was referring to the $825 billion Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act which was supposed to go to state governments for shovel ready projects. I suppose if Obama blindly trusted the banks with that money or sent it to the states and it did not "stimulate" anything, then he should shoulder some blame for wasting it,..no?

I agree with you about the auto industry. I am happy we did not hand over GM and Chrysler to Japan. Yet, hmmm there goes that conservative streak in me again. I wonder if we will truly get all the loan money back or how this is fair to Ford, who did not take any money, yet managed on their own, to make money the right way. Perhaps, this is like the "Prodigal Son" and GM learned it's lesson or perhaps we will be bailing them out again in a couple years. I wonder, does the government who bails them out with our money, even care if they learned their lesson?

Once, the Supremes handed down their verdict on campaign funding it was over. No Republican support or consideration for the plight safety or well-being of millions was ever seen to be take precedence over insuring that nothing was done that could be construed as visible or tangible signs of improvement.

Did you or anyone else ever wonder, with all the other pressing cases that that were aready on the docket involving our rights as citizens, fraud, and treacherys ranging from national security, with some transcending and amounting to war crimes how that silly CITIZENS UNITED argument to hide the disclosure by what by a few fringe radicals got to be #1 with a bullet for the handpicked Supremes? CONSIDER, NOW HOW THAT DECISION PLAYED RIGHT INTO THE HANDS OF POWER ELITES AND HOW IT HAS FACILITATED A NO RETURN MANDATE "FOREVER"- IF NOT CORRECTED, IN PERMANENTLY DIMINISHING OF YOUR INDIVIDUAL CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS TO VOTE IN FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS TO THAT OF A COMRADE IN SOVIET KGB RUSSIA.
Republicans once returned to the mantles of power would never revisit that decision. Free to unleash all of the punitive and genocidal practices they concocted and put firmly in place during the last administration, and that disclosure was reaffirmed by would be Senate majority leader that you would be empowering John "return to the Bush years" Boehner.

IT'S TIME FOR FOOTBALL- SEE YA!

John, you are right. The Republicans are not looking toward our best interests. If so, they would have worked on improving health care long ago, when they had the power. Instead, they are more concerned with special interests, not the people’s interest. Do you think ODonnel beat Castle because she is a better politician? Carl Rove and other Republican’s did not like this because they were afraid of losing a seat but the people said “to hell with your seat“. Castle is no different then his Democrat opponent, a big government establishment type, which the people are rejecting. Unfortunately, she may be too far out there for the Delaware majority.

The will of the people is clear. Less spending, more responsible government, less control over our lives, and less taxes. Do the job they were elected to do, instead of following their special interests, self interests or careers, serve the people’s interest.

So why would I vote Republican this election? Because these Democrats are no better and actually worse. They go a step further then ignoring, by forcing Obamacare down our throats, against our will, even when we clearly said no. If they were smart, they would have let the Republicans drive it, however weak it may have been but they were looking for the credit, which turned out to be their Achilles’ heel. The people want it repealed or vastly improved.

So what happens now? The Republicans at least win a majority in the House next week, maybe even the Senate. If we don’t see a clear difference from them and the Democrats with less spending and more responsible governing for the people, then they will be taken to task and probably lose in 2012 to Independents and Democrats. Who will take them to task, you ask? None other then the people, along with the Tea party, who you think is backed by Republicans. I am hoping it does not come to this and the Republicans 'get it' this time around. If they don’t, I will be leading the charge against them. You can count on it.

If the people don't get it now, think about how skewed the MSM spin machine, foreign influence, and unlimited campaign funding will get once the lockstep party of $$$, and election fixing[Diebold] takes over.
Forget about pre-existing conditions, you've just snuffed out the original 40million Americans who weren't covered by insurance. That number will increase at least to 70million by the time any reasonable recovery can take hold.
Never put off til tomorrow, what you impact for certain and can save today.

With Diebold, privatized water, and debtors prisons on the not too distant horizon, You'd better hope that Bushies Supremes have a short life span. Otherwise you're cooked. As far as taking up arms, get real. These are the very same folks, [Ollie North et al] who have set up the Fema Camps that they refuse to tell even Congress about or even let them see.
You say wait and see. THAT'S WAY TOO MUCH TRUST IN THESE FUNDAMENTALISTS WHO WILL NEVER CHANGE THEIR SPOTS FOR THE GOOD OF THE PEOPLE. THEY ARE ALREADY SETTING THEIR SIGHTS ON PALIN SINCE SHE ISSUED HER DIRECTIVE.

THERE CAN BE LITTLE LEFT TO QUESTION ABOUT THE INTENT OF THE BANKSTA'S AND THEIR TENTACLE OPERATIONS TO "OWN YOU" LOCK STOCK & BARREL, AND KEEP YOU IN A PERMANENT STATE OF TERMINAL INDENTURED SERVITUDE.

PHOENIX — Bank of America and GMAC are firing up their formidable foreclosure machines again today, after a brief pause.

But hard-pressed homeowners like Lydia Sweetland are asking why lenders often balk at a less disruptive solution: short sales, which allow owners to sell deeply devalued homes for less than what remains on their mortgage.

Ms. Sweetland, 47, tried such a sale this summer out of desperation. She had lost her high-paying job and drained her once-flush retirement savings, and her bank, GMAC, wouldn’t modify her mortgage. After seven months of being unable to pay her mortgage, she decided that a short sale would give her more time to move out of her Phoenix home and damage her credit rating less than a foreclosure.

She owes $206,000 and found a buyer who would pay $200,000. Last Friday, GMAC rejected that offer and said it would foreclose in seven days, even though, according to Ms. Sweetland’s broker, the bank estimates it will make $19,000 less on a foreclosure than on a short sale.

“I guess I could salute and say, ‘O.K., I’m walking, here’s the keys,’ ” says Ms. Sweetland, as she sits in a plastic Adirondack chair on her patio. “But I need a little time, and I don’t want to just leave the house vacant. I loved this neighborhood.”

GMAC declined to be interviewed about Ms. Sweetland’s case..." [cont]

SHORT SALES ARE NO FREE PASS..."Short sales, to be sure, are no free ride for homeowners. They take a hit to their credit ratings, although for three to five years rather than seven after a foreclosure. An owner seeking a short sale must satisfy a laundry list of conditions, including making a detailed disclosure of income, tax and credit liens. And owners must prove that they have no connection to the buyer.
Still, bank decision-making, at least from a homeowner’s perspective, often appears "arbitrary". That is certainly the view of Nicholas Yannuzzi, who after 30 years in Arizona still talks with a Philadelphia rasp. Mr. Yannuzzi has owned five houses over time, without any financial problems. When his wife was diagnosed with bone cancer, he put 20 percent down and bought a ranch house in North Scottsdale so that she would not have to climb stairs.

In the last few years, his wife died, he lost his job and he used his retirement fund to pay his mortgage for five months. His bank, Wells Fargo, denied his mortgage modification request and then his request for a short sale.

CHECK OUT THIS LIE---> The bank officer told him that Fannie Mae, which held the mortgage, would not take a discount. MORE ACCURATELY AS DEPICTED WITHIN THE ARTICLES OTHER PARAGRAPHS IT IS THE BANK ITSELF THAT SLOWED THE PROCESS UNTIL THE OWNER WAS DELINQUENT, REFUSE TO ACCEPT THE SHORT SALE AND OPTED FOR GREATER LOSSES IN ORDER TO GO THE FORECLOSURE ROUTE. THEN DELAYED AGAIN... TACKED ON FEES, DEMANDED MORE AND HIRED INCOMPENANTS TO INSURE THEIR POUNDS OF FLESH.
At the end of last week, he was waiting to be locked out of his home.

“I’m a proud man. I’ve worked since I was 20 years old,” he said. “But I’ve run out of my 79 weeks of unemployment, so that’s it.”

He shrugged. “I try to keep in the frame of mind that a lot of people have it worse than me.”

Back in Phoenix, Ms. Sweetland’s real estate agent, Sherry Rampy, appeared to receive good news last week. GMAC re-examined her client’s application and suggested it might be approved.

But the bank attached a condition: Ms. Sweetland must come up with $2,000 in closing costs or pay $100 a month for 50 months to the bank. Ms. Sweetland, however, is flat broke.

A late afternoon desert sun angles across her Pasadena neighborhood.

“After this, I’ll never buy again,” Ms. Sweetland says. “This is not the American dream. This is not my American dream.”
AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THE BANKSTA'S WANT "TOTAL OWNERSHIP" AND TO DRAIN EVERY BIT OF YOUR ACCRUED ASSETS.

DO YOU REPUBLICANS BEGIN TO GET WHAT I HAVE BEEN TELLING YOU FOR YEARS- NOW?
DO YOU STILL WANT TO CANCEL OBAMACARE WHICH WOULD PREVENT BOTH THE BANKSTA'S AND THEIR INSURANCE TENTACLES FROM ENSLAVING AMERICA UNDER THEIR ARBITRARY, SLOW FOOT, DESTRUCTIVE POLICYS?

THE REPUBLICAN "yesmen" THAT YOU SEE AS YOUR SAVIORS- WANT STOP FINANCIAL REFORM THAT WOULD REIGN IN AND END THESE PRACTICES, AND THE HEALTHCARE PROTECTIONS THAT WOULD PROTECT "YOU" and your assets.
*INSTEAD- YOU WANT AND MAKE THESE EXTORTIONS AND STRANGLEHOLDS PONZISCHEMES "PERMANENT".

John, I understand your point about the Republicans but I still feel it is a two headed monster we are battling.

The Republicans would leave you alone to fend for yourself, while these Democrats will enslave you with big government control, making you think they are better for us but never resulting in the success as advertised. Neither party is making policies that empower the people.

As I said before, the nature of business is to make money, period. The role of government should be to empower the people to be self sufficient on their own and to protect us from those powers we can't defend by ourselves. The very fact we still have "too big to fails" is testimony they are not doing their job. So instead of fixing the problem, they throw us a bone like Obamacare, which will down the road allow businesses to drop their employer sponsored health care, forcing us all to struggle on a lessor plan. At that point, should I blame business or government policy?

So I believe ultimately we are better off when government allows us to keep more of our money (less taxes), provides incentives to business to keep us employed and to keep jobs in this country. Often when government try's to supply our needs we wind up all paying more in the end. Supplying our needs really empowers government, not the people.

As far as Ms. Sweetland, would it be wrong to suggest that she may have been living above her means? She is 47 and had a high paying job, yet still owed $206,000 on her mortgage after draining her retirement savings. While poor Joe Shmoe down the road pinched his pennies, sacrificed and kept his modest home, continuing to make his payments struggling to pay off his remaining $40,000 mortgage, using the money from his two average paying part time jobs, careful not to mess with his retirement accounts taking responsibility for his future.

If all were as responsible as Joe Shmoe, then someone well deserving like Mr. Yannuzzi who experienced an unexpected tragedy, would be afforded the help he needs if not by business, surely by a caring society.

So why weren't and are't CEO's and bankers tested similarly without exception and dismissed if and when any substance which as the article has claimed impairs their judgment? In their cases, especially testing should be performed daily since even the residual effects of a two martini lunch, afterwork or weekend splurge trying to seduce a client could affect millions?

Better yet? Where does it all end?

Me thinks, the maniacal exploiters at the top of this upper echelons brains and gene pool are terminally FUBAR. So much so, that they can't even recognize just how much they are implicating themselves- with each and every new plot that they attempt decree and to unleash on the nations depleted workforce, and the rest of us below their "high" and mighty stewardship.

America has become a rudderless ship, led by idiots who seek to protect themselves by strategizing their forces into drawing lines in the sand, and forming circular firing squads. Will somebody please yell- FIRE!!!

"So why weren't and are't CEO's and bankers tested similarly without exception and dismissed if and when any substance which as the article has claimed impairs their judgment?" -John

John, I have a little different view of the article. It specifically targeted particular jobs with risk of injury. Since injury and lawsuit in the workplace amounts to lost money to the company, it is trying to mitigate those losses by proactively removing that risk.

The government made it possible by allowing the testing. In the name of protecting others, they have trampled individual rights. If someone shows evidence of risky behavior then it is a legitimate concern and perhaps a justifiable dismal. However, with no evidence, it is a form of government sponsored discrimination. Only the best and brightest need apply.

We have come to a point in society where micromanaged controlled behavior is either followed or those that don't will be dismissed. We no longer judge according to the facts but according to particular rules, regulations and metrics. We are all just a number.

My phrasing and posts have been quiet a bit out of focus lately due to computer malfunction but mostly due to a terminal illness in my rather tight family. Sorry.

The analogy was not even what I had intended.

"FIRST THEY CAME FOR THE JEWS, I WASN'T A JEW SO I DID NOTHING..."

RISK PREVENTION- 101
So why weren't and are't CEO's and bankers tested similarly without exception and dismissed if and when any substance which as the article has claimed impairs their judgment? Similarly, the politicians and SC judges and their penchant for going off on junkets, retreats, fundraisers, with the sharks in big business or with foreign leaders where mind altering concoctions and substances are lauded to be praised as the "confections" of the gods.
WHY AREN'T THEY BEING TESTED TO SEE IF THEIR MINDS WEREN'T ALTERED BY UNNATURAL SUBSTANCES?

I'LL LEAVE IT UP TO YOU TO FIGURE OUT WHO CAN AND DOES CAUSE THE GREATEST AMOUNT OF INJURY- a) the worker taking his medicine to that they "can" focus and do the job that they perform routinely b)politicians and SC judges coming back from one of their power lunches

If The GOP wins it would be a giant leap foward.

Supposed Problems Left Behind By President Bush:

This is a great lesson to understand as we enter the fall elections. Politicians on both sides have a way of making things sound good, and even though true, are very misleading. Progressives are killing this country, and we need to change course, but let's make sure we are dealing with a full deck. Don't believe everything you hear. Check it out before making up your mind. We will be deciding this country's financial future............

The Washington Post babbled again today about Obama inheriting a huge deficit from Bush. Amazingly enough,..... a lot of people swallow this nonsense. So once more, a short civics lesson.

Budgets do not come from the White House.. They come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party. They controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009, as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.
For FY 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets..

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009. Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period:

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.

In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th, 2009.

WHAT??? THE THE DEFICIT WAS 12.7TRILLION THE DAY BUSH LEFT OFFICE.

DO NOT ENTERTAIN bs. Check out the proofs yourself. Don't use MSM op eds and authors paid by lobbyists to paint pictures. Use official government, CBO, and other responcible data before you go about off placing your foot in your mouth. Four times $12.7 would be $50.8trillion. Obama had $900b, PLUS HEALTHCARE.

Healthcare will keep thousands of hospitals both municipal and private from totally collapsing themselves under the weight of 50million uninsured Americans.

It just doesn't matter to me anymore. Vote to appease your anger as is your right. Time is running out on so may levels for this country and the world by catastrohropic disaster, and deterioration of our instructure that Any further discussion on this topic is pointless. It's paper. Printable. With no fixed value.

Floods, poisoned water tables, diminishing food supply, taking away our jobs. Inability to produce a product beginning to end that we would need to offset these calamities which the bankers and the politicians will not allow. Hmmmmmmmmmm! Then you will be speaking in a language that is reflective- in earnest, of adjusting to our present condition..
