It's typical for the party in power to lose seats in the midterm elections, especially when that party caps runaway corporate excesses. Republicans could have done pretty well if the Tea Party had stayed out of things. Now too many radical candidates are on the Republican ticket, and that will dampen the enthusiasm of voters.

The Republican's are way ahead, with only a few minutes left to play. Trying to sack the quarterback, won't help the Democrats. They need to score points. So what points have they scored so far? cricket...cricket...cricket.

It doesn't seem to make sense at first look. Mr. Obama preserved many Bush programs, including TARP, which bailed out the financial giants largely on their terms. His Attorney General, a corporate lawyer, has pushed no major prosecutions of the banksters and their widespread frauds. He led a successful rescue of General Motors and Chrysler. The Obama stimulus, while too small, benefited thousands of big and small companies. He has continued spending on the national security economy. Nothing has been "nationalized." Unions have been kicked to the curb on the Employee Free Choice Act. Google's $60 billion tax loophole and all the others -- still in place. The health-care reform, heavily modeled on that of Massachussetts Gov. Mitt Romney's work, is a big boost to insurers. The sweetheart deal in Medicare Part D for big pharma remains untouched. Much of the stim was taken up by tax cuts. George W. Bush at least talked about peak oil; not Mr. Obama. This is an abbreviated list.

I don't get it. Whatever the work of the past year-and-a-half, it has not been that of a "liberal" president.

The Washington Post babbled again today about Obama inheriting a huge deficit from Bush. Amazingly enough,..... a lot of people swallow this nonsense. So once more, a short civics lesson.

Budgets do not come from the White House.. They come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party. They controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009, as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.
For FY 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets..

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009. Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period:

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.

In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th, 2009.

The fervor of the people is extremely short minded when you consider that the Republicans will never commit anything toward cleaning up the environment, or shopring up our infrastructure. They will provate your water, they will privatize roads and have you paying for them for the rest of your life. If you oand others think that taxation is so bad then why didn't anyone open their mouths when you were rope-a-doped into paying 300% increases for a gallon of heating oil and gasoline.
Most people are ignorant to the nuances of language, tone and inflection.
They too easily diverted away from the issues and the natural occurances which are immediate wiping out huge swarths and sectors of our nation.

I leave you today with a message from a spirit so loved, so trusted, and so kind to everyone he met whose companionship and preserverance despite all of his physical handicaps never surmounted or overcame his ability to bring cheer to anyone he found in distress with a friendly lick or a gentle nuzzle with his giant "Rotten"weiler head. Back around 2005 or 2006 the majority had enough of the Republicans. They ignored the people and spent irresponsibly. The people demanded fiscal conservative policies. Instead we got open borders, jobs shipped overseas and the selling off of America.

We need CHANGE the people cried! In came Obama and his team to save the day. In October 2010 spending is much worse, we are aggressively prevented from defending our borders, jobs continue to go over seas, the increased deficit is making us more and more dependent on China, there are plans to raise taxes to increase government power with no plans to reduce the spending.

So what has these Democrats done to earn any support? Oh yeah, Obamacare, 37% of people polled want it repealed, 36% wanted a much better plan and only 15% want to keep it as is.
